CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that focuses on subtle tissue restrictions and mobility within the interconnected structures of the body.

The craniosacral system is commonly described in relation to the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, extending through the cranial and spinal regions to the sacrum. In equine bodywork, this approach considers the relationship between these structures and the body's overall movement and function.

My work uses light, attentive contact to explore areas of restriction and tension, with the aim of supporting tissue mobility, body awareness and the horse's ability to move comfortably.

How CranioSacral Therapy May Support Your Horse

CranioSacral Therapy may be incorporated into an individualized bodywork session when appropriate, with consideration for:

  • Posture and movement restrictions — Areas of tension that may influence movement quality and mobility.

  • Head and jaw tension — Restrictions around the poll and jaw that may be relevant to overall comfort and movement.

  • Compensation patterns — Subtle restrictions that may be considered alongside findings elsewhere in the body.

  • Recovery support — As a complementary approach alongside appropriate veterinary care and rehabilitation following injury or altered movement.
